It is finally confirmed that Matrix 4 will soon begin production. The long awaited sequel will be directed by Lana Wachowski and shooting will begin in the first half of 2020. Lana Wachowski is also helping to produce and write the film.
There is no word about Lana's sister Lilly Wachowski, so it seems Lana will be directing alone this time.

Neo and Trinity will be back

More great news for all Matrix fans. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will be back in their original roles as Neo and Trinity.
The timing seems to be perfect now, since Keanu Reeves had a lot of success with the John Wick series recently.
It's not clear yet if Laurence Fishburne will come back as Morpheus, but there is a rumor that a younger actor might be cast for the role this time.

The script is already finished?

It seems that Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell already finished the script together with Lana Wachowski.
Unfortunately no details about the story have been revealed yet.
Recently Man in Black: International was a successful, fresh new take on the series, after the rather disappointing second and third installments in the series. Matrix 2 and 3 also had a lot of mixed reviews, so I'm curious to see if Matrix 4 will be able to do the same.
As a big Matrix fan, I'm super excited and can't wait to hear more details about the story. Tell me your thoughts in the comment section below. Do you like Matrix 2 and 3?
